ThreadWare User Guide

Sales

Looking up sales orders, seeing what is outstanding, checking order history, and capturing sales activity and quotes.

You only see what you have been given access to

ThreadWare is built from modules - Sales, Production, Quality and so on. An administrator gives you a role in each module, for each company you work in. The menu is built from those roles. So if something in this guide is not in your menu, it has not been given to you yet. Ask your administrator, or log a support ticket. To see what you currently hold, click your initials in the top right and choose My Access & Roles.

Can I use it?

RoleWhat you can do
Sales Viewer View sales orders, back orders and order history.
Sales Rep The above, plus capture sales activity and quotes for your own customers.
Sales Editor Create and edit sales orders, where ThreadWare holds the orders itself.
Sales Admin Maintain customers, items and sales settings.

Roles are given per company. If you work in two companies you might be a Viewer in one and a Rep in the other.

Where to find it

Menu ▸ Sales

If you work in more than one company, the menu shows each company underneath Sales. Pick the company first.

The pages

PageWhat it shows
Sales Orders The current order book for that company. Your usual starting point.
Back Orders Orders that are overdue or not yet fully delivered.
Order History Completed orders, for looking things up after the fact.
Sales Activity / Quotes Record visits, calls and quotes against a customer. Needs Sales Rep or Sales Admin.
Customers & Items Maintain the customer and product lists behind the activity screens. Needs Sales Rep or Sales Admin.

Click any order row to open its detail, which shows the lines, quantities, dates and delivery status.

Everyday jobs

Find one order

  1. Open Sales Orders for the right company.
  2. Type the order number or the customer name into the search box on the table toolbar.
  3. Click the row to open it.

Faster still: open the AI Assistant and type "show me order SO1234" or "what is outstanding for customer X". You need a Sales role in that company for it to answer. See the AI Assistant guide.

See what is late

Open Back Orders. Sort by the due-date column to put the worst first.

Export a list

Most list pages have an export button on the toolbar that saves what you are looking at as an Excel file, including the filter you had applied.

Why some companies have fewer pages

Not every company keeps its orders in the same system. ThreadWare works out where a company's sales data comes from and shows only the pages that can display it. So one company may show all five pages and another only two. That is configuration, not a fault.

If you see "No Sales Orders Available for this Company. Please contact an Administrator", that company has no order book connected to ThreadWare yet. Nothing you can fix from here - it is a setup job.
