ThreadWare User Guide

Recruitment

The job applications inbox. A small module with unusually strict access, for good reasons.

You only see what you have been given access to

ThreadWare is built from modules - Sales, Production, Quality and so on. An administrator gives you a role in each module, for each company you work in. The menu is built from those roles. So if something in this guide is not in your menu, it has not been given to you yet. Ask your administrator, or log a support ticket. To see what you currently hold, click your initials in the top right and choose My Access & Roles.

Can I use it?

You need the Recruitment permission. It is granted deliberately, to named people who handle applications.

Being an Administrator does not open this

Everywhere else in ThreadWare, an Administrator can see everything. Recruitment is the one exception. An ordinary Administrator cannot read job applications or CVs unless they have also been given the Recruitment permission specifically.

This is intentional. A job application contains a great deal of personal information from somebody who does not work for you and who has not agreed to it being passed around. Under POPIA, only the people who actually need it should see it.

Where to find it

Menu ▸ Recruitment ▸ Job Applications

What it does

Applications arrive from the public careers site and land in this inbox. From here you can:

Searching applications with the AI Assistant

You can ask the assistant to find candidates - for example "which applicants have a millwright qualification?". Two rules apply, and both are firm.

The assistant never ranks or shortlists candidates

You get a list of candidates to read. You do not get a score, a ranking or a recommendation, and it will not tell you who is best. The decision about a person is always made by a person.

The second rule is the access one above: without the Recruitment permission, the assistant will not return applicant information at all, no matter what else you hold.
